Famous Toastery Sets Sights on San Antonio for First Texas Location
San Antonio, TX – Brunch enthusiasts in San Antonio will have a new option in 2026 with the arrival of Famous Toastery, a rapidly expanding Southern brunch chain. the restaurant will be located in The Shops at Babcock, at 15301 Babcock Rd., marking the franchise’s first foray into the Texas market.
Founded in Huntersville, North Carolina, by Brian Burchill and Robert Maynard, Famous Toastery initially announced its Texas expansion plans in November 2024. The San Antonio location will be owned and operated by local Army veteran Rachell Bonds, who expressed her excitement to bring a “warm, agreeable dining experience with high-quality, simple scratch meals with ‘Famously Fresh’ ingredients” to the city.
Famous Toastery joins a growing trend of brunch-focused restaurants – including Snooze: An A.M. Eatery, Pür & Simple, and The Toasted Yolk Cafe – challenging the conventional all-day breakfast model of established chains like Denny’s and IHOP. The menu features a diverse range of brunch staples and Southern-inspired dishes, from hash and huevos rancheros to French toast stuffed with various fruit and cream cheese combinations.
A signature offering is the customizable “Blah Blah Blah” omelet, allowing diners to select their preferred meats, vegetables, and cheeses. Southern specialties like biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits, and mac ‘n’ cheese (categorized as a breakfast item) are also featured, alongside more traditional lunch fare like Reubens and grilled chicken wraps. The menu also includes salads, protein bowls, and a breakfast burrito.
Beyond food, Famous Toastery offers a selection of brunch-appropriate beverages, including mimosas, margaritas, Bloody Marys, Bellinis, and a “Rumosa,” as well as boozy coffee options.
while originally aiming for a late 2025 opening, the debut of the San Antonio Famous Toastery is now anticipated in mid-2026, coinciding with the expected completion of tenant build-outs at The Shops at Babcock in April or May 2026, according to Andrew Bagnall of Abiso Real Estate.
