According to Klungkung police spokesman I Dewa Nyoman Alit Purnawibawa, fellow tourists spotted a woman stranded on the southern section of the cliff face and raised the alarm. Before emergency responders could reach her position, Ms Cronin fell further down the steep ravine, sustaining multiple injuries upon hitting the shoreline below.
Following the accident, local responders transferred her body to the Griya Medica Clinic in Banjar Nyuh, Ped Village, and subsequently to Gema Santi Hospital. According to reporting from 7NEWS, forensic medical examinations were scheduled for September 16, 2026, as consular arrangements unfolded between Indonesian authorities and the Australian Embassy.

“Our hearts are broken. Our kind, loving and beautiful daughter and sister, Brianna Lani Cronin, has passed away in Bali, and right now she is so far from the people who love her most,” the family shared via their public fundraiser. “We are asking for your help to bring her home to Australia. Our first and most important goal is to bring Brianna home so that we can hold her close, say goodbye properly, and lay her to rest surrounded by family and friends.”
