The tie of the round appears to be Chelsea’s home match against Wrexham, the National League club co-owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Wrexham secured their place in the last 16 with a 1-0 win over Ipswich Town in the previous round. Hull City were defeated 4-0 by Liam Rosenior’s side last Friday, paving the way for Wrexham’s appearance.
Liverpool will face Wolves in the fifth round, after overcoming Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 in their fourth-round encounter. Manchester City, victors over Salford City 2-0, will play Newcastle United away from home.
Nigel Clough’s Stags of Mansfield Town earned a challenging away tie against Premier League leaders, Arsenal, after a stunning 2-1 upset of Burnley. Fulham will host Championship side Southampton, while the outcome of the tie between Port Vale and Bristol City will determine Sunderland’s opponent, with the fourth-round match having been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Leeds United will face a familiar opponent in Norwich City, managed by Daniel Farke, at Elland Road. Brentford defeated Macclesfield in their fourth-round tie, ending the lowest-ranked team’s run in the competition.
