F1 Champion on Performance, Innovation & Jungheinrich’s New Logistics Tech

March 25, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Former Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg marked a personal milestone revisiting the scene of his first Grand Prix victory, the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, while simultaneously promoting advancements in intralogistics technology with Jungheinrich AG.

Rosberg, reflecting on the race that ended a 50-year winless streak for Mercedes, described a pivotal moment in his career. He recounted a frustrating start to the 2012 season, with no points accumulated in the opening races, followed by a sudden shift in performance at the Shanghai International Circuit. “I remember sitting in the car before the start, thinking, just don’t make a mistake now. Stay focused. Preserve calm. Trust the system,” Rosberg shared in a recent post. He secured both pole position and the race win, a breakthrough he attributes not to a single innovation, but to the consistent execution of numerous slight improvements.

The visit coincided with the LogiMAT trade show, where Rosberg experienced firsthand the latest developments from Jungheinrich, a company he partners with. He drew parallels between the precision and reliability required in Formula 1 and the advancements in intralogistics, particularly highlighting Jungheinrich’s fresh FalcOn, an all-electric vehicle. “It’s like the Formula 1 vehicle of intralogistics! Super high performance and fully electric!!” Rosberg stated, emphasizing the need for consistent performance under pressure.

Jungheinrich showcased several new products at LogiMAT, including the FalcOn, the AntOn forklift, and the EFG series. The AntOn forklift was presented as a testament to the value of simplicity and ease of use, while the EFG forklift boasts up to 15% better space efficiency, a reduced turning circle of up to 300 mm, and a 65% reduction in reversing blind spots – features designed to enhance operational efficiency in warehouse environments.

The intralogistics software market was estimated at $11.30 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $13.22 billion in 2026, indicating a rapidly evolving sector. Rosberg’s observations suggest that companies prioritizing clarity and reliability in performance are gaining prominence within this landscape.
