F1 Champion Lando Norris Launches Junior Team and Development Program to Help Drivers Reach Formula 1
Lando Norris, fresh from securing the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship, is launching a junior racing team named LN4 Fusion alongside an independent driver development initiative called the LN4 Legacy Programme, designed to help young drivers gain opportunities in single-seater racing.
According to reporting, LN4 Fusion will be operated by Rene Rosin, the founder and former boss of Prema, one of the most successful teams in junior single-seater categories over the past two decades. Rosin noted that having a reigning world champion directly involved adds a vital operational dimension because Norris intimately understands the immense demands of climbing the feeder series.
The operational framework divides responsibilities between continental Europe and the United Kingdom. The main headquarters will be established in Veneto, Italy, while a UK arm based in Cambridgeshire will be led by Dan Hazlewood, head of the Fusion Motorsport karting team, to run a dedicated effort in British F4. Norris shares co-ownership of the project alongside an investment group led by businessman Dan Richards, who brings a substantial background in technology. Richards emphasized that the initiative represents a rare combination of established racing operations, world-class motorsport expertise, and significant capital injection.
For the upcoming 2027 campaign, the team plans to field entries across the Italian F4 Championship, the FIA Formula Regional European Championship, and the FIA Formula 3 Championship. According to reporting, LN4 Fusion has already secured selected assets from AIX Racing, including that organization’s entry for the 2027 F3 season. While organizers also harbor ambitions to field a squad in the FIA Formula 2 Championship next season, the formal application process remains ongoing.
Parallel to the race team, the fully funded LN4 Legacy Programme will be managed by Julian Rouse, who previously served as head of a similar driver development scheme for the Alpine F1 team. Norris, who joined the McLaren Young Driver Programme back in 2017 before earning his permanent grid spot in 2019, explained that the venture aims to provide young drivers with the exact network and infrastructure he relied on during his ascent.
