Monster Hunter Wilds’ Omega Planetes challenge Unlocked,Paving Way for Savage Mode
CAPCOM announced today the completion of Extra Mission 5 – “Invader from the Stars” in Monster Hunter Wilds unlocks access to the substantially more challenging Omega Protocol (Savage) Event Quest. The mission, a crossover event with Final Fantasy XIV, culminates in a demanding DPS check against Omega Planetes and its summoned allies, offering unique rewards for triumphant hunters.
This multi-phase battle tests players’ ability to manage complex mechanics and maximize damage output. Phase 3 is particularly critical,requiring hunters to defeat a Nerscylla Clone summoned by Omega Planetes while contending with waves of Omega Micros,cactuars,and Malboros. Malboros inflict a variety of status ailments, but strategically utilizing their explosions against the Nerscylla can provide a notable advantage, poisoning and paralyzing the clone. Cactuars deal 100 damage to the Nerscylla with splash damage to players.
Successfully defeating the Nerscylla Clone before Omega Planetes completes its Delta Attack summons a protective shield, allowing hunters to survive the devastating blast. Failure to meet the DPS check results in an instant wipe, though players can utilize a Farcaster to escape or rely on support from fellow hunters to continue the attempt.
Upon defeating Omega Planetes, hunters recieve a suite of rewards, including the unlock for Omega Protocol (Savage), alongside cosmetic items and crafting materials. The full list of rewards includes:
