Experience The Market Vol. 3 at SCBD: A Heaven for Card Collectors
The Market Vol. 3 by FanCon, a gathering for card collectors, took place at Jakarta’s Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) from October 12 to 14, 2024, according to event organizers. The three-day exhibition featured over 200 vendors specializing in trading cards, including anime, sports, and video game collectibles, drawing attendees from across Indonesia and neighboring Southeast Asian countries.
FanCon, the event’s organizer, reported that the 2024 edition saw a 25% increase in participating vendors compared to the 2023 event. “The growth reflects the expanding interest in collectible cards, particularly among younger demographics,” said Rizal Adi, FanCon’s chief operations officer, in a statement provided to media outlets. The event also included workshops on card preservation and autograph sessions with local artists, according to a press release from the company.

SCBD, a major commercial hub in Jakarta, has become a recurring venue for large-scale events due to its accessibility and infrastructure. The 2024 Market Vol. 3 occupied two floors of the Grand Indonesia shopping complex, with organizers noting that attendance exceeded 10,000 visitors daily. “The location allows us to reach a broader audience, including both local enthusiasts and international collectors,” Adi added.
Local media outlets, including Tempo and Kompas, highlighted the economic impact of the event, citing reports from the Jakarta Business Council. The council estimated that the event generated approximately IDR 12 billion in direct revenue for vendors and nearby businesses, though this figure was not independently verified. Attendees also praised the event’s organization, with some noting improved crowd management compared to previous years.
FanCon’s founder, Dian Prasetyo, emphasized the event’s role in fostering a community for collectors. “We aim to create a space where enthusiasts can connect, trade, and celebrate their passion,” he said in a separate interview. The company has not yet announced details for The Market Vol. 4, but Adi mentioned discussions are underway for a potential 2025 edition.
