Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion

“Everybody Loves RaymondReunion Timing Coincided with Emmy Awards Boost

LOS‌ ANGELES, November 17, 2023 ⁢ – The declaration of the Everybody ⁤Loves Raymond 30th Anniversary Reunion‍ special, which airs ⁣November 24th on CBS ⁣adn streams‍ on Paramount+, arrived just weeks after a well-received reunion between stars Ray Romano and Brad Garrett at the Emmy ⁢Awards. While talks with CBS were⁤ already underway, Romano revealed⁤ the⁤ Emmy appearance‍ wasn’t initially strategized to propel reunion negotiations.

The timing of the special’s announcement, following Romano and Garrett’s viral Emmy bit⁤ where ‌Garrett⁤ joked about⁢ appearing in the show’s In Memoriam segment, ‌has sparked questions about whether the positive⁢ reception influenced CBS’s decision. The reunion special will air⁣ on the series’ signature night, monday, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Romano explained he was approached two to ⁢three weeks ⁢before ⁤the Emmys to present the Outstanding Comedy Series award and suggested Garrett join ‍him.‌ “I saeid,‌ ‘Well, it’d be good if I did it with Brad.’ They agreed to that, and then ⁣we had ⁣to‌ come up with the idea, and⁣ we toiled over,” Romano said. He emphasized ‍the work involved in crafting the seemingly spontaneous ‌moment. “It’s funny because it looks like it’s just 90 seconds of ‍stuff that we thought of⁢ yesterday. And that’s so not⁤ the case…it ended up going well, but ⁢that was me and Brad,⁢ we wrote ‍it.”

Despite not ⁤being active ⁣on social⁢ media, ⁣Romano acknowledged the positive feedback he received about the Emmy performance. “I did get a lot of ⁣feedback from it.I did get people telling‍ me that they really liked ⁣the little bit we did. It was ‌great.”

Hosted by Romano and‍ Philip‍ Rosenthal, Everybody Loves⁢ Raymond:‌ 30th Anniversary Reunion ⁤will feature Garrett,‍ Patricia Heaton, Monica Horan, Madylin Sweeten, ⁣and Sullivan⁢ Sweeten. The special will also honor the late Doris Roberts, Peter Boyle, and‍ Sawyer Sweeten.
