Ethan Slater publicly reaffirmed his relationship wiht Ariana Grande and praised her talent amid recent speculation about a split. The actor addressed breakup rumors and shared his enthusiasm for Grande’s upcoming tour and career, offering insight into their relationship as they approach their two-year anniversary.
Slater told Elite Daily he is “really happy for her,” noting, “She loves this music. She loves performing. She loves her fans in a really deep way that I think maybe is hard to fully grasp.” He expressed hope “that everyone who wants to see it can see it,” referring to Grande’s performances,and lauded her 2026 Eternal Sunshine Tour,saying,”It’s a really lovely thing that millions of people want to come see her perform,and I’m really excited for everybody who’s going to be able to see it. I’m excited for myself to be able to see it.She’s unbelievable.”
Rumors of a split surfaced after grande attended the 2025 MTV VMAs solo. Slater quickly dispelled these claims with a supportive Instagram Story, and a source confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that “Ariana and Ethan are still together and very happy with each other.” The source added, “They just enjoy keeping their private life private. Ethan and Ariana support each other no matter what.”
According to the insider, Grande intentionally focused the VMAs on “her and her family, as well as a fashion moment,” wanting to avoid making her personal life the central focus. The couple, dating for two years, reportedly envisions a long-term future together. “They’re continuing to appreciate and enjoy this moment,both professionally and personally,” the source stated. “They think each other is ’The One’ but aren’t rushing towards an engagement,though that is something that they both see happening.” Both families are reportedly supportive of the relationship.
At the Gen V red carpet premiere on September 10, Slater reiterated his support, telling elite Daily he was excited to join the series and praised the cast and crew. “Everybody’s welcoming, fun, really good, and talented, so it was easy,” he said.
