Venezuelan Striker Eric Ramírez Joins Bohemians 1905 in Prague
Venezuelan forward Eric Ramírez, previously known to Slovak football fans from his stints with Slovan Bratislava, Senica, and Dunajská Streda, has signed with Czech First League club Bohemians 1905.
Ramírez first played in Slovakia during the 2018/2019 season with FK Senica, arriving on loan from Czech side MFK Karviná. He then moved to Dunajská streda in the summer of 2019, where he played for two years before transferring to Ukrainian club Dynamo Kyiv for a reported fee of nearly two million euros.
The striker joined Slovan Bratislava in January 2022, notably scoring a crucial goal in extra time against HŠK Zrinjski Mostar in a Conference league playoff match, helping his team advance on penalties. Though, his time in Bratislava ended prematurely after the 2022/2023 season. Slovan terminated his contract and sent him back to Dynamo Kyiv after he failed to return from a holiday in South America and missed winter preparations, leading coach Vladimir Weiss to exclude him from the team.
Ramírez subsequently faced a ban from FIFA in December 2024 due to a contract dispute with Slovan Bratislava, preventing him from playing until he settled his debt to the club – a situation resolved two months later while he was playing for Argentine club Tigre.
Bohemians 1905 director Darek Jakubowicz stated,“Eric is at the best football age. He already has experience with the Czech Republic, so acclimatization should not be a big problem for him.”
