Erdogan Slams International Order at Istanbul Expo

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a sharp indictment of the modern geopolitical order, warning business leaders in Istanbul.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 21st MÜSİAD EXPO and the 29th International Business Forum, Erdogan argued that global institutions are failing to deliver justice, legitimacy, and representation.

Condemning Middle East Policy and Global Bodies

Addressing officials and executives, Erdogan launched a scathing critique of foreign powers and international bodies, maintaining that the global system has fallen into a severe deadlock regarding representational equity and basic fairness.

He further maintained that individuals facing arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court belong in courtrooms rather than at United Nations podiums to answer for state violence and civilian casualties.

Weighing the Promise and Peril of Artificial Intelligence

Shifting from geopolitics to macro-technology, Erdogan noted that historical turning points often arrive abruptly when critical thresholds are crossed. He emphasized that the recent, rapid transformation driven by artificial intelligence is reshaping professional and personal domains alike.

“Artificial intelligence, whose benefits we feel in all areas—from health care to education, from information technologies to transport, from agriculture to economy—transforms both our personal lives and those in the professional sphere,” Erdogan said.

He added that automated systems and robotic technologies directly influence modern manufacturing and consumption cycles. However, the Turkish leader issued a pointed warning regarding the integration of these technologies into the real sector. If human factors and ethical boundaries are sidelined during development, the outcomes could trigger severe unintended consequences for entrepreneurs, industrialists, and investors.
