Cobham – Chelsea received a significant boost ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with league-leading Arsenal as manager Enzo Maresca confirmed that Cole Palmer is fit and available for selection, and could even start. the news comes after a morale-boosting 3-0 Champions League victory over Barcelona on Tuesday.
Maresca addressed the media at Cobham, stating, “Yes, Cole is available for both [to play and to start].” Palmer hasn’t featured for the blues since mid-September due to injury.

Maresca highlighted the importance of Palmer’s return,saying,”Having Cole back is good news and everyone is happy… He is probably our best player and we are happy he is back.” He cautioned, however, that Palmer will need time to regain peak fitness.
When asked about the potential of seeing Palmer and Estevao play together, Maresca acknowledged the excitement, adding, “They can play together. It depends against which team and the game plan, but for sure the fans are excited to watch both together.” He stressed the need for balance between attacking and defensive phases.
Chelsea currently sit second in the Premier league with 23 points after 12 matches, six points behind Arsenal’s 29.Maresca emphasized the importance of each fixture, stating, “For me, they are all significant games… beating Barcelona is good and if we are able to beat Arsenal, it’s a nice feeling. But in the end it’s three points and then on Wednesday we have Leeds which is another three points. We will try our best to beat Arsenal and then we will see.”
