‘No One Lives Here’ Exit Left Actor Joseba Apaolaza “In a Bad Way” After Broken promise
Madrid - Actor Joseba Apaolaza, known for his role in the first season of the Spanish thriller series No One Lives Here (ANHQV), revealed he left the show feeling deeply disappointed after producers went back on a commitment to continue his character’s storyline.Apaolaza, who transitioned to acting after a career in teaching, described the experience as “bittersweet” and “painful,” highlighting the common industry practice of actors being unexpectedly removed from projects.
apaolaza detailed in an interview with Cadena Cope that he received an explicit promise from the producer to continue his involvement with the series. Though, a subsequent change of heart led to his character being written out. ”I left the series in a bad way because I had the express promise of the producer to continue,” he stated. “Than, there was a change of mind and I found myself out of the series. It hurt me a lot as, really, it was a series that I really liked and I liked it a lot.”
The actor emphasized the emotional toll of not being able to properly conclude his work on the show and say goodbye to his colleagues. He also alluded to a reputation for unpredictable decision-making surrounding the series and its production. “That series and whoever directed it had that reputation to, a bit of doing and undoing at will and in despotic ways,” Apaolaza said. he firmly stated, “they broke their word,” leaving him feeling disillusioned despite positive recognition from viewers for his initial performance.
