Real Madrid’s Endrick in Talks for Loan to Olympique Lyon
Madrid, Spain – Negotiations are underway for Real Madrid forward Endrick to join Olympique Lyon on loan in January, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano. The move comes as the 17-year-old Brazilian expresses concern over a lack of playing time with Los Blancos and it’s potential impact on his inclusion in the 2026 World Cup.
Endrick, who arrived at Real Madrid this summer, has struggled for consistent minutes, a situation exacerbated by a hamstring injury and the arrival of coach xabi Alonso. He has yet to make an official debut under Alonso’s direction.
“To be honest, what’s most on my mind is that I’m afraid of not being in the 2026 World Cup,” Endrick stated months ago. “I’m worried as my dream is to be in the World Cup… I’m honest, I’m scared.”
Romano reported via X (formerly Twitter) that Lyon has already presented a sports plan to both Real madrid and Endrick, with the player welcoming the possibility of a move to Ligue 1 to gain playing experience.
“It is very arduous to be in the best club in the world, with the best players in the world, and almost never play. I can’t continue like this…” Endrick admitted.
Real Madrid is reportedly considering the loan as a way to allow Endrick to accumulate minutes while maintaining control over his long-term growth. Lyon, seeking to bolster its attack, views Endrick as a promising addition to its squad.
