Elon Men’s Golf Finishes Fifth at Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Elon University men’s golf concluded play at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate tournament today, September 10, 2024, securing a fifth-place finish among a competitive field. the Phoenix posted a team total of 850 across three rounds at the par-72 course.
The tournament, held at the Golf Club at Grande Dunes, saw Elon compete against a diverse group of programs. This event serves as an early-season test for the Phoenix, providing valuable experience and a benchmark for advancement as they navigate the fall schedule. Elon will build on this performance as they prepare for thier next challenge at the Western Carolina JT Poston Invitational.
Elon was led by a strong individual performance, with several players contributing to the team’s overall score. The Phoenix finished behind Clemson (847), Florida Gulf Coast University (847), and Coastal Carolina (849).

The Phoenix will continue their fall season next weekend at the Western Carolina JT Poston Invitational, a three-day, 54-hole tournament beginning Sunday, September 15, 2024, and extending through Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the Waynesville Inn & Golf Club in Waynesville, North Carolina.
