Electric Milk Frothers Tested: Achieve Perfect Foam at Home

February 13, 2026 Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor Health

The pursuit of café-quality milk foam at home is driving increased interest in barista training and specialized equipment, according to industry experts. While professional courses offer in-depth instruction, a growing market for electric milk frothers provides a more accessible alternative for consumers seeking creamy textures.

Felix Ladwig, training director at the Dallmayr Academy, recently evaluated eight electric milk frothers, noting they can achieve results comparable to those produced by the steam wands on professional espresso machines, but “for a fraction of the cost.” This assessment comes as more individuals attempt to replicate the experience of coffee shops within their homes.

Demand for formal barista education remains strong. The Deutsche Baristaschule, located near Munich, currently has openings in its intensive barista training courses scheduled for February 23-27, March 30-April 3, and April 27-May 1, 2026. The school, established in 2013, offers a range of programs, including intensive courses, professional barista certifications, and a comprehensive Coffee Shop Manager curriculum.

The German Barista School reports having trained hundreds of participants from around the world, many of whom have gone on to work in cafes, bars, and coffee shops, or have opened their own businesses. They offer a modular system designed to guide students step-by-step toward professional proficiency. The school can be reached via email at [email protected], by phone at +49 8141 8893015, or via WhatsApp at +49 175 8807814.

Beyond Germany, specialized training is also available. BARESTA® offers home barista training focused on espresso and cappuccino preparation, catering to groups of 4-6 or individual instruction. Blasercafé in Switzerland provides courses tailored to both hospitality professionals and coffee enthusiasts, with options for customized group training and gift certificates.

KAUFMANNS Kaffeerösterei also provides barista and latte art courses, focusing on mastering the use of a siebträgermaschine (portafilter machine), adjusting espresso grinders, and achieving the proper milk texture for latte art.

The availability of both professional training and consumer-level equipment suggests a broadening interest in coffee culture and a desire for greater control over the brewing and preparation process.
