Dzintars Adler Re-Elected as Chairman of Aluksne County Council

In a decisive vote on June 26,2025,Dzintars Adler from the New Unity party was re-elected as the Chairman of the Aluksne County Council in Latvia. the election took place during the first meeting of the newly formed council, with nine out of fifteen deputies casting their votes in favor of Adler.

The initial council meeting was presided over by Ilze Rubene, who serves as the chairman of the Aluksne Regional Election Commission. During the session,two candidates were nominated for the position of City Council chairman: Dzintars Adler and Arthur Dukuli from the Union of Greens and Farmers.The voting process involved secret ballot papers.

Adler secured votes from Uva Grencione-Lapseniete, Janis Skulte, Andis Zariņš, himself, Druvis Tomsons, Mārtiņš Augstkalnietis, Renārs Salaks, Intars Berkulis, and Aivars Fomins. Dukuli’s candidacy received support from Elīna Petersone, Modris Lazdalns, Artūrs Grīnbergs, himself, Ivita Gusta, and Ritvars Gust.
