Dyn Media Split: New Structure for Sports Streaming Platform & B2B Focus
German sports streaming platform Dyn is restructuring into two distinct companies, Dyn Sport and Dyn Media, effective immediately. The move aims to bolster the company’s position in both the direct-to-consumer and business-to-business sectors, according to a statement released by Dyn founder Christian Seifert.
Dyn Sport will focus on acquiring sports rights and marketing directly to consumers. Dyn Media, meanwhile, will concentrate on broadcasting operations, content production – both live and on-demand – and the development of technological and editorial solutions for sports leagues, associations and other media companies.
Seifert, who previously led the German soccer league, launched Dyn in August 2023. He will transition to the role of executive chair and as well assume chairmanship of the shareholders’ committee. The overall management team will remain unchanged, the company confirmed.
“Dyn’s fresh structure reflects this reality and sets an important course for the future,” Seifert said. “With two clearly defined companies, we are creating the foundation to strategically advance our growth areas – as a logical continuation of what we have built since Dyn’s inception. Together, they form the basis for sustainable growth in the media market.”
The restructuring follows a series of significant rights acquisitions for Dyn, particularly in the realm of European handball. In late January, the platform secured exclusive broadcasting rights for the Machineseeker EHF Champions League, the EHF Champions League Women, and the EHF European League until 2030, covering the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). This deal ensures Dyn will exclusively broadcast all matches featuring German clubs in those competitions starting with the 2026/27 season.
Dyn also holds the rights to broadcast all matches from the men’s knockout stages and both the men’s and women’s EHF Finals, as well as the TruckScout24 EHF FINAL4 and the Raiffeisenbank EHF FINAL4. All matches will be available on demand, with selected games and related content featured on the free-to-air channel, Dyn Sport Mix.
Further expanding its handball portfolio, Dyn secured rights to broadcast all matches of the 2026 Men’s and Women’s EHF European Championships, as well as the away qualification games of the German women’s national team, through a sub-licensing agreement with SportA, the sports rights agency of ARD and ZDF. The platform also broadcasts the men’s and women’s domestic Bundesliga competitions in Germany.
Audience figures for the Machineseeker EHF Champions League and the EHF European League almost doubled in the first half of the 2025/26 season compared to the previous season, according to Dyn, highlighting the growing appeal of European club handball on the platform.
