Dubai’s Nol card, traditionally used for public transportation, has expanded its functionality to encompass everyday expenses like dining, event tickets, and parking fees, officials announced on October 17, 2025. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) initiative streamlines payments across a wider range of services within the emirate.
the Nol card’s broadened utility aims to enhance convenience for Dubai residents and tourists, reducing reliance on cash and multiple payment methods. This expansion impacts the daily lives of the city’s over 3.6 million inhabitants and the millions of annual visitors, offering a unified payment solution for transport and leisure. The RTA anticipates increased adoption of the Nol card, furthering its vision of a seamless and integrated urban experience.
Currently, Nol cardholders can utilize their balance at over 1,000 restaurants, cafes, and retail outlets across Dubai. The card is also accepted for entry to various attractions, including concerts, sporting events, and theme parks. Furthermore, nol cards can now be used to pay for parking at RTA-managed facilities throughout the city.
The nol card system encompasses several card types – Red Ticket, Silver Nol Card, Gold Nol Card, and Blue Nol Card – each offering varying benefits and usage options. Users can top up their Nol cards through various channels, including RTA customer service centers, online portals, and dedicated machines at metro and bus stations. Details regarding participating vendors and specific card benefits are available on the RTA website (https://www.rta.ae/). The RTA plans to continually integrate additional services and partners into the Nol card network, expanding its scope and value proposition.
