A fire erupted near the entrance of the Fairmont The Palm hotel in Dubai on Saturday, following reports of a projectile impacting the area during an escalation of regional tensions. The incident occurred as Iran launched retaliatory attacks following strikes against its facilities.

Footage verified by multiple sources shows a blaze breaking out at the luxury resort, located on the Palm Jumeirah artificial island. Dubai’s Media Office confirmed an “incident” occurred in the Palm Jumeirah area, reporting four injuries. Attempts to reach the hotel for comment were unsuccessful.

The Fairmont The Palm, a five-star hotel, offers 391 guest rooms and eleven restaurants and bars, according to its website. It is situated on the iconic Palm Jumeirah and is a popular destination for tourists and business travelers. The hotel features eight swimming pools and a private beach.

The incident comes amid a broader exchange of attacks between Iran and Israel. Iranian state media reported strikes within Iran, while sirens sounded in Israel, prompting citizens to seek shelter. Iran has stated that all US and Israeli military bases and assets in the region are considered “legitimate military objectives.”

The Fairmont The Palm is located near popular attractions such as Aquaventure Waterpark, The Pointe, and Nakheel Mall. The hotel is approximately five miles from Dubai Marina, according to booking.com.

As of Saturday evening, the Dubai Media Office had not released further details regarding the nature of the projectile or the extent of the damage to the Fairmont The Palm. No statement has been issued regarding potential disruptions to hotel operations.
