Drake named Apple music’s top Artist of 2025, Despite No Solo Album Release
CUPERTINO, CA – December 3, 2025 – Drake has been crowned Apple Music’s most-streamed artist of 2025, marking another year of dominance for the Toronto rapper. The announcement comes as Apple Music rolls out its annual ”Replay” feature, revealing the year’s most popular songs and artists.
This achievement is particularly notable as Drake did not release a full-length solo album in 2025.His continued success underscores his enduring popularity and the lasting impact of his existing catalog, even as the music landscape rapidly evolves. The honor signals Drake’s continued influence on streaming culture and sets the stage for the anticipated release of his forthcoming album, Iceman.
Apple Music’s data reveals Drake maintained his position at the top despite a year focused on collaborative projects and promotional singles. He released Some Sexy Songs 4 U with PARTYNEXTDOOR in february, spawning the singles “GIMME A HUG,” “NOKIA,” “SOMEBODY LOVES ME” and “DIE TRYING.” He also previewed material from Iceman with the release of “What Did I Miss?,” “Which One” featuring Central Cee, and “DOG HOUSE” featuring Yeat and Julia Wolf.
The artist addressed the response to his recent musical direction and livestream presentation in a recent interview with Complex, stating, “I think the biggest misconception is how simple people think this is. When you try to do something new or different, people can be overly critical before really understanding what it takes.” He further explained, “the goal with this project was to be creative and innovative – to experiment in a way that might spark others to think differently about how music can be released or experienced.”
While Drake topped the artist charts, kendrick Lamar secured six placements on Apple’s Top 10 songs of 2025 list. Lamar’s “luther,” featuring SZA, claimed the No. 1 spot, followed by his diss track “Not Like Us” at No. 2. drake’s “NOKIA” landed at No.7.
As of December 3, 2025, a release date for Drake’s Iceman remains unconfirmed.
