Prayssas Mourns the Loss of Dr. Etienne Clavel, Beloved Physician of Four Decades

Dr. Clavel died on Saturday, September 13, 2025, leaving a void in the lives of generations of residents and a legacy of unwavering dedication to his patients.

dr. Clavel’s commitment to his practice was legendary. He routinely worked 60 to 70-hour weeks, beginning his days at 7 a.m. and frequently enough continuing consultations at the office or in patients’ homes well into the night,sometimes until 9 or 10 p.m. He was known for his tireless responsiveness, always available to his patients nonetheless of the hour or circumstance, and refusing to leave anyone without care.
Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Clavel was deeply involved in civic life. As an assistant to Mayor Alain Merly, he spearheaded the creation of the town’s health course and actively contributed to Prayssas’ cultural and festive events. He was honored with the rank of Knight of the National Order of Merit, recognizing his years of service and dedication.
