Toronto Animal Health Partners Welcomes Emergency Veterinarian Dr. Emily Rochford
MISSISSAUGA, ON – Toronto Animal Health Partners (TAHP) has announced the addition of Dr. Emily Rochford to its team of emergency veterinarians. Dr. Rochford brings a wealth of experience and specialized training to the Mississauga-based practice, bolstering its commitment to providing advanced care for companion animals.
Originally hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Dr. Rochford’s path to veterinary medicine began with a strong foundation in scientific research. She earned a Bachelor of Science Honours (BScH) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University College Dublin between 2012 and 2016, receiving the prestigious Joy Carey medal for her thesis work focused on epigenetics. This rigorous academic background fueled her passion for the biological sciences and ultimately led her to pursue a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (MVB) at the same institution, completing her degree in 2020.
Following her veterinary training, Dr.Rochford initially practiced as a general practitioner in small animal care in Ireland. In 2022, she relocated to Toronto and joined Toronto Animal Health Partners, quickly becoming a valued member of the emergency veterinary team.
Dr. Rochford has also proactively expanded her skillset through specialized courses, including a Veterinary Council of Ireland approved course in Small animal Dentistry (2021) and a course focused on Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome Surgery (2022), demonstrating a dedication to providing cutting-edge treatment options for her patients.
beyond her professional pursuits,Dr.Rochford enjoys the balance of city life and outdoor recreation, frequently taking advantage of cottage weekends and hiking opportunities. She is now fully integrated into the TAHP team, offering critical emergency care to pets and their owners in the Greater Toronto Area.
