DPR Urges Residents to Attend Nov. 4 H.A. Baldwin Park Meeting
County of Maui Schedules November 4 Public Meeting for H.A. Baldwin Park Adaptation Plan
The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation is urging residents to attend a public meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, to shape future land stewardship and park improvements at H.A. Baldwin Park, mauicounty.gov reported. The session runs from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will be hosted both in person at the Pāʻia Community Center and online via Zoom.
Adapting Maui’s Largest Beach Park to Coastal Hazards
Located in Pāʻia, H.A. Baldwin Park spans 86 acres of beaches, open lawns, trails, and forest tracts, making it the County of Maui’s largest beach park. The property also houses the Pāʻia Youth and Cultural Center and the Rinzai Zen Mission. Planners initiated the current update after severe weather destroyed the park pavilion and increased coastal hazards impacted the shoreline, compounding the need to manage land acquired from Alexander & Baldwin since 2014.
Meeting Access Details and Future Timeline Dates
Participants joining remotely can access the session through zoom.us by entering Meeting ID 832 6591 0691 and passcode 440109, according to mauicounty.gov. Additional project documentation is available on the H.A. Baldwin Park Project homepage. Following the November session, a subsequent community meeting is scheduled for March 3, 2027, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pā‘ia Community Center, where project consultant SSFM International will present the draft adaptation plan ahead of its finalization in summer 2027.
