Tommy Fleetwood secured a victory at the DP World Tour event in India, fulfilling a promise to his son and continuing a stellar season marked by eight top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour.

Fleetwood began the final round trailing Japan’s Keita Nakajima by two ⁤strokes, but a dominant performance, punctuated by four consecutive birdies ‌from the seventh to the tenth holes, and further gains on the 14th and 17th, propelled him to a two-shot ⁤win. The ‌triumph ensures his⁢ qualification for the season-ending tournaments and ‍builds on his recent success, including a key role in europe’s Ryder Cup victory.

new Zealander Daniel Hillier, ranked 218th in ⁢the world, briefly held the ⁤lead after reaching seven under for his round, ⁢but a double bogey on the 14th⁣ derailed ⁣his challenge.Nakajima, ⁤unable to replicate his impressive third-round 65, finished second – his third runner-up result on the DP World Tour.

“There’s been plenty‍ of times when ⁢things haven’t gone my way, but the last two tournaments I have been in contention in I have won, so maybe things are starting to even out a little bit,” Fleetwood said after ⁤the win.

England’s Alex Fitzpatrick finished in a tie for third at 18 under, closing with a third straight round of 67, alongside Ireland’s Shane Lowry. Viktor Hovland also impressed, finishing in a share‍ of fourth at 17 under after an eagle on the final hole.

Rory McIlroy concluded the tournament in a tie for 25th place at 11 under.
