Dordt’s Schmidt Named Heart of America Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week

Colt Schmidt, a freshman volleyball player at Dordt University, has been named the Heart of America Athletic Association (HAAC) and NAIA Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, the organizations announced this week.

Schmidt averaged 4.77 digs per set across four matches last weekend, contributing to a series of victories for Dordt. He also successfully handled 58 out of 62 serve receptions, demonstrating consistent performance under pressure. In addition to his defensive contributions, Schmidt recorded three ace serves during the matches.

The HAAC and NAIA recognize players each week for outstanding performance. Schmidt’s recognition highlights his early impact on the Dordt volleyball program, which competes within the HAAC conference. He hails from Palmdale, California.
