Trump Issues Final Ultimatum to Hamas on Hostage Deal
WASHINGTON D.C. – Former US President Donald Trump has delivered what he calls a “last warning” to Hamas, urging the militant group to accept a proposed ceasefire and hostage release agreement. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “The Israelis have accepted my terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well.I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one.”
According to reports from Israeli media outlet N12 news, trump has presented hamas with a new proposal that would see the release of all 48 hostages currently held in Gaza on the first day of a truce. In return,Israel would release thousands of Palestinian prisoners and begin negotiations toward a permanent end to the ongoing conflict. An Israeli official has confirmed the proposal is under “serious consideration,” but has not provided further details. The progress comes as fighting intensifies in Gaza City, prompting evacuation orders for civilians.Overnight, local health officials reported 14 fatalities, including several individuals sheltering in a school. The Israeli military stated a strike targeted a Hamas militant, and that civilians had been warned beforehand. Hamas has denied utilizing residential buildings for military purposes.
Tens of thousands of civilians remaining in Gaza City are being directed south, many seeking refuge in already overcrowded encampments near Khan Younis. “We want a ceasefire before Gaza City is turned into ruins like Rafah,” said a resident named Emad, who declined to provide his last name. “How long is this going to go on? How many lives are going to be wasted? Enough is enough.”
Growing opposition to the war is also evident within Israel. On Saturday, tens of thousands of protesters, including families of hostages, rallied demanding an end to the conflict and the return of those held captive. Approximately 20 of the 48 hostages believed to still be in gaza are thought to be alive.
