Dolly Parton, Iconic Music Star and Actor, Dies

On August 25, 2026, Tempo Software announced the launch of Workforce Intelligence, marking the introduction of the first attribution solution designed to measure and verify the return on investment for productivity results driven by human workers and artificial intelligence in engineering environments.

Bridging AI Costs and Jira Work Units

As technology budgets balloon, engineering leaders face an uncomfortable reality: they can track overall spending on artificial intelligence, but they cannot tie those investments directly to tangible business outcomes. Not even one in three technology leaders can adequately connect the value of AI to financial growth. Tempo’s new Atlassian Marketplace app seeks to solve this visibility gap by connecting AI usage, human effort, and cost directly to the specific Jira work it supports.

Workforce Intelligence automates a portion of this audit trail natively inside project management infrastructure.

Technical Architecture and Sourcing Data

The tool combines inference API telemetry data, human labor inputs, and cost summaries into a single work record. This enables engineering managers to view cycle times side-by-side, comparing AI-assisted tasks against non-AI tasks without requiring developers to alter how they log their day-to-day operations.

“Thanks to observability, you can nachvollziehen whether an agent worked properly,” explained Shams Chauthani, CTO of Tempo, in the official release. “What you do not learn is who did that work or what costs arose in connection with a funded problem. Workforce Intelligence correlates the session directly with the commit, so the answer is verifiable.”

Corporate Accountability in Autonomous Engineering

Tempo CEO Vic Chynoweth emphasized that operations leaders do not need another generic dashboard. Instead, they require precise documentation linking AI usage straight down to the individual Jira ticket.

By offering native attribution within Jira, the platform automatically ties AI activities to epics, stories, and broader strategic initiatives.
