Dollar Today: Blue Rate & Official Exchange in Argentina – March 23, 2024
The Argentine blue dollar, a widely watched informal exchange rate, closed at 1405 pesos for purchase and 1425 pesos for sale on Monday, March 23, 2026, according to reports from La Nación and TN. This represents a slight increase of 1 percent over the official rate.
The official exchange rate, as reported by the Banco Nación, stands at 1360 pesos for purchase and 1410 pesos for sale. The blue dollar’s value continues to be a key indicator of market sentiment in Argentina, particularly regarding confidence in the official exchange rate and government economic policies.
The exchange rate for Argentine credit and debit cards used for purchases abroad, known as the “dólar tarjeta,” is currently 1833 pesos. This rate includes advance tax perceptions applied to the official exchange rate. The “dólar CCL” (contado con liquidación), or cash-settled dollar, is trading at 1462.02 pesos, a decrease of 1.73 percent from the previous day, while the “dólar cripto” is at 1449.17 pesos, according to TN.
Over the past five business days, the blue dollar has remained relatively stable, with fluctuations of less than 1 percent. Looking at the year-to-date performance, the blue dollar has decreased by 6.12 percent from its early-year high of 1515 pesos.
Export volumes of Argentine beef have increased significantly in the first two months of 2026, reaching approximately 102,200 metric tons with a value of around US$648.9 million, a 32.9% increase in value compared to the same period in 2025, TN reported.
