Doctronic Raises $40M to Expand AI-Powered Prescription Chatbot Service
AI-powered healthcare startup Doctronic secured $40 million in Series B funding on Monday, led by Abstract and Lightspeed Venture Partners, bringing the company’s total funding to $65 million in less than a year. The investment will fuel the rapid expansion of the company, which offers virtual healthcare services utilizing an AI chatbot and telehealth clinicians.
Founded in 2023, Doctronic launched its service incorporating human clinicians in January 2025. The company’s model involves an initial consultation with a chatbot to gather patient information about symptoms and health concerns. Patients are then connected with a clinician via telehealth for diagnosis and treatment, with a flat fee of $39 per consultation. Doctronic projects revenue exceeding $10 million this year.
Doctronic describes itself as “the world’s most popular AI doctor” and intends to use the new funding to accelerate hiring and scale its operations. The company is also preparing to integrate its technology with a range of partners, including digital health companies, health systems, and health insurance payers, according to a company statement.
The funding round comes after Doctronic launched a pilot program earlier this year, described as a “first-in-the-nation experiment,” to allow its chatbot to renew prescriptions. The program’s details and outcomes have not been publicly released.
