Disney Twisted-Wonderland Season 2 Episode of Savanaclaw Teaser and Release Date Revealed
Disney+ has confirmed that Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation will return for its second season, titled Episode of Savanaclaw, this December. The series, which adapts the dark fantasy game conceptualized by Black Butler creator Yana Toboso, continues its multi-season rollout following the debut of the Episode of Heartslabyul arc last year.
The Expansion of the Twisted-Wonderland IP
According to data provided by Oricon News, the first season—Episode of Heartslabyul—launched on October 29 of last year and became the most-watched Japanese animation title on Disney+ globally based on views recorded during its first seven days of availability. This performance has validated the studio’s long-term roadmap, which already includes a third season, Episode of Octavinelle, with further long term development planned for the anime series.
Savanaclaw Takes Center Stage
The newly released teaser visual shifts the narrative focus to the Savanaclaw Dorm, centering on the character Leona Kingscholar. The imagery features Leona seated on a throne, flanked by Ruggie Bucchi and Jack Howl, with a shadow silhouette resembling the King of Beasts looming in the background. The tagline, “The scheming begins,” signals a darker, more competitive tone for the upcoming arc.

The voice cast has expressed enthusiasm for the shift in focus. Yuichiro Umehara, who voices the housewarden Leona Kingscholar, noted that the intense drama and character exchanges in this chapter provided a robust performance experience. Taito Ban, the voice of Jack Howl, emphasized the inclusion of “Spelldrive” as a focal point for the animation. Aoi Ichikawa, the voice of Ruggie Bucchi, noted the emotional resonance of seeing the character animated, marking a significant milestone in his professional career.

Strategic Implications for the Franchise
By keeping the architect of the source material involved in the “main scenario” and “character designs,” the studio preserves the brand’s authenticity, which is essential for satisfying the existing, highly engaged fan base.
