Director, Design & Innovation – Amgen India | Biostatistics Leadership Role

The new Director will serve as the primary interface between the India-based teams and global Design & Innovation leaders, ensuring alignment with Amgen’s overall strategy while fostering growth within Amgen India (AIN). According to the company, while not all functions are currently fully represented in India, the role is tasked with planning for future expansion of these capabilities.

The position, currently located in Hyderabad, will focus on strategic and operational leadership, translating global objectives into executable plans. Key responsibilities include supporting the delivery of innovative statistical methodologies, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance, and driving the adoption of new approaches in data stewardship and statistical monitoring.

Amgen is also actively recruiting for other biostatistics roles in India, including a Senior Manager-Safety Biostatistics position in Hyderabad, as well as a Manager Biostatistics role, according to postings on LinkedIn and the Amgen careers website. These roles reflect the company’s broader effort to bolster its global biostatistics infrastructure, with AIN playing a key role in integrated delivery and functional leadership.

The Director role will also encompass significant people leadership responsibilities, including recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing staff. The position requires a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant scientific discipline, with at least eight years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Demonstrated experience in people management and strong communication skills are also essential.
