Dino Beganovic to Replace Charles Leclerc in Ferrari F1 Practice in Brazil
Dino Beganovic will take the wheel of a Ferrari Formula 1 car during the opening practice session at the São Paulo Grand Prix this Friday. The 22-year-old Swedish racer steps into the seat normally occupied by Charles Leclerc, who is arriving late to the Brazilian circuit following the birth of his daughter, Bianca. Aftonbladet reported that Beganovic’s participation marks his third appearance in a Formula 1 practice session this season.
Beganovic replaces Leclerc for Interlagos debut
The decision to utilize Beganovic comes after a series of logistical shifts within the Ferrari-affiliated driver pool. While Rafael Camara, a Ferrari academy driver, had been slated for the assignment, the team pivoted to Beganovic due to recent changes in the grid’s driver lineup. Automotorsport.se notes that the Swedish driver is currently signed as an official reserve and development driver for the Italian team through the 2027 season.
“I feel well prepared,” Beganovic stated in a press release. “I have never been there before and it will be very fun to try Interlagos for the first time.” His goal for the hour-long session is, as always, to help the team in the best possible way in the work ahead of the rest of the weekend.
Weather risks and track conditions in São Paulo
The Interlagos circuit presents a unique set of variables for the practice session. Meteorological forecasts for the weekend indicate conditions will change. While Friday is expected to remain dry with temperatures near 24 degrees Celsius, the forecast for Saturday predicts heavy rainfall, which could disrupt the qualifying schedule. Sunday is expected to be dry but notably cooler, with temperatures dropping to 18 degrees Celsius.

These temperature fluctuations pose a challenge for tire management. The colder Sunday temperatures can affect the tires and the drivers’ ability to get them into the correct working temperature, which in turn can affect the car’s performance and tire wear.
Schedule for the São Paulo Grand Prix
The weekend’s proceedings begin with the session featuring Beganovic on Friday afternoon.
