Movie Theaters to Host Centennial Celebration for Entertainment Icon Dick Van Dyke
Nationwide cinemas will mark a milestone in entertainment history with a special film event honoring Dick Van Dyke as he approaches his 100th birthday. “Dick Van Dyke: 100th Celebration” will premiere in early December, offering fans a tribute filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt moments, according to Fathom Entertainment.
The film, created by Boettcher Entertainment, features interviews with those who shared the screen with Van Dyke, including the late Betty White, Tim Conway, and Chita Rivera. Filmmakers initially didn’t anticipate timing the release to his centennial, but the approaching birthday felt like a natural and fitting occasion. The premiere will be held at Danville’s Fischer Theater, the very location where a young Van Dyke discovered his passion for performing while watching Laurel and Hardy.
Boettcher described the film as embodying Van Dyke’s signature style: “It’s got laughter and music and touching moments. It’s pure entertainment, much like Mr.Van Dyke.”
Tickets for “Dick Van Dyke: 100th Celebration” go on sale October 31 through Fathom Entertainment.
