Diablo II: Resurrected Gets New Warlock Class – All Diablo Games to Feature the Sorcerer in 2026

February 11, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Blizzard Entertainment is extending its celebration of World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary with a crossover event in Overwatch 2, bringing iconic characters from Azeroth into the hero shooter. The collaboration, which ran from September 17 to September 30, 2024, featured four new Legendary skins inspired by prominent World of Warcraft figures: Sylvanas Windrunner as Widowmaker, the Lich King as Reinhardt, Thrall as Zenyatta, and Diamond Magni as Torbjorn.

The event offered players the opportunity to earn up to ten free rewards, including charms, sprays, icons, and name cards, by participating in challenges. A “Mega Bundle” was also available for purchase, containing all skins and cosmetics from the collaboration. Players completing challenges could earn rewards like the “Quest Complete” weapon charm and the “Ding!” challenge, requiring completion of seven World of Warcraft challenges.

Beyond the skins, the crossover incorporated elements designed to immerse players in the World of Warcraft universe. Cinematic-quality Plays of the Game were created, featuring backgrounds from the Lich King cinematic during Reinhardt’s Lich King Play of the Game. Emotes inspired by World of Warcraft NPC quest givers were also included, allowing Overwatch 2 heroes to deliver a homage to the original game.

The event included a series of ten challenges designed to reward players for engagement. These challenges ranged from completing games as specific roles (Tank, Damage, Support, or All Roles) to playing a total of 60, 80, 100, or 120 games, with wins granting double progress. Rewards included sprays, player icons, and a player title – “Alliance Champion” – for completing the most demanding challenge of 120 games.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced a month-long series of developer-led livestreams in 2026 spotlighting World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, and Diablo IV, as part of the company’s 35th anniversary celebrations. The 2026 Blizzard Showcase will provide fans with a look at upcoming content for each of these titles.
