DFA Antique Consular Office Opens New Location in San Jose

San Jose de ⁢Buenavista, Antique Passport and consular‌ services for residents of antique and neighboring areas​ are now⁤ more accessible with the official opening of the Department of Foreign⁢ Affairs (DFA) Consular Office’s new permanent location at CityMall San Jose de ‌Buenavista on Friday, September 12, 2025.The move from a temporary site at Robinsons Place Mall provides a larger, more convenient venue for Filipinos requiring travel documents and other consular assistance.

The relocation addresses longstanding challenges faced by Antiqueños and those across Panay Island who previously ⁤endured lengthy travel and wait times to‍ access essential DFA services. Governor Paolo Javier highlighted the benefits, stating, “this would be a big help to⁤ my kababayans ⁣ and⁣ likewise to our neighbors around Panay Island. Practically, those who will avail themselves of consular services such as​ passports, visas, and ⁤other travel documents, not only lessen expenses‍ but⁣ also save travel ⁣time and ‌hours of waiting.”

The DFA Consular Office Antique began operating ‌on an interim basis at‍ Robinsons Place Mall ‍in 2024. The new CityMall‍ location represents a long-term investment in the province,according to DFA Undersecretary De Vega.”For many‌ years,the people ‌of Antique had to travel long ⁢distances to access passports and ⁤other consular‌ services. Establishing this office ⁣means ⁤we⁣ are not only serving Antiqueños today⁢ but also helping‍ foster Antique’s role as ‍a key driver of⁢ regional‍ advancement,” she said.

Congressman‌ AA Legarda​ echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the office’s importance in bringing government⁤ services closer to the⁣ people.”The DFA Consular Office is not just a facility,it is indeed the realization ‍of our vision to bring vital government ⁤services closer to our people,”‌ he stressed.

The DFA Consular Office Antique‌ offers the following services:

* Passport ⁣application and renewal
* Civil registration (reporting of birth, marriage, and death of Filipino citizens ‌abroad)
* Document authentication ⁢(Apostille)
*⁤ ⁢ Other consular services

The‍ office is open​ Mondays to Fridays, from​ 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays.
