DePaul Assistant Coach Kathleen Doyle Receives WBCA Thirty Under 30 Honor
CHICAGO – DePaul University women’s basketball assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Kathleen Doyle has been named a recipient of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 award, the organization announced Tuesday.
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program, now in its tenth year, recognizes 30 up-and-coming women’s basketball coaches aged 30 and under who demonstrate a commitment to community service, mentorship, professional conduct, and involvement in professional organizations. Doyle’s selection marks the third consecutive year a member of the DePaul coaching staff has received the honor, following Ashton Millender in 2024 and 2025.
In her first season with the Blue Demons, Doyle focused on working with the guard unit and leading the team’s recruiting efforts. Her coaching contributed to the development of junior guard Kate Novik, who earned All-Considerable EAST Second Team honors while averaging 12.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
“We are thrilled the WBCA has chosen to honor Kathleen Doyle as part of its Thirty Under 30 program,” said DePaul head coach Jill M. Pizzotti. “Kathleen’s basketball knowledge and insight, on-court energy, tireless work ethic and willingness to share her talents daily have made a significant impact on our staff. Coach ‘KD’ is a rising star and well deserving of this recognition.”
Prior to joining DePaul, Doyle served as Director of Recruiting and Player Personnel at Virginia Tech for one season. A native of La Grange, Illinois, Doyle had a distinguished playing career at the University of Iowa, where she was named the 2020 Big Ten Player of the Year and earned AP All-America recognition as a senior. She was likewise selected in the 2020 WNBA Draft and played professionally in Poland and Turkey.
Doyle is currently serving a four-year term on the U.S. Junior National Team Committee, which extends through 2029, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to the development of young basketball talent.
