Roscommon Mourns passing of Denise Simms, née O’Boyle
Tulsk, Co.Roscommon – denise Simms (née O’Boyle) passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12th, 2025, surrounded by family at Roscommon Hospice. Her death marks a period of mourning for teh local community and beyond.
Denise, a beloved wife and mother, is remembered for her devotion to family and her warm spirit. She is survived by her husband,Robert,and children Shane,Liam,Niamh,and robert,as well as her grandchildren Charlie,Harry,Sophie,Kayden,Kaiya,Bobby,and Penny. She was predeceased by her parents, Nell and Denis O’Boyle, her sister Jacinta, and her brother Denis Jnr.
Reposing will take place at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Monday evening from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by removal to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM, wiht burial afterwards in St. Coman’s Cemetery, Roscommon.
The family has requested family flowers only, with donations, if desired, to be made to The Roscommon Hospice. Those unable to attend the funeral are invited to view the live stream of the Mass at https://www.churchtv.ie/roscommontown/.The family has requested privacy at their home during this time.
