Join Us for a culture & Experience Afternoon Focused on dementia Awareness
Dementia; Put the person first, not the disease
dementia Pleasant Oisterwijk is dedicated to empowering individuals living with dementia to remain active and engaged members of the community for as long as possible. On Monday, November 24th, join us for a compelling lecture by Joop van Hezik, who will share his insights with his characteristic passion, as part of our Culture and Experience afternoon.
The majority of people with dementia continue to live at home, and a supportive social environment is crucial for their continued participation in society. This requires a focus on understanding, acceptance, breaking down stigmas, fostering connections, and nurturing informal relationships.Numerous organizations within the municipality of Oisterwijk are already working towards these goals.
Joop van Hezik will detail how to achieve these aims, drawing on his extensive experience. He has been actively involved with the Dementia-friendly Municipality of Oisterwijk working group since 2009, serving first as a councilor and later as chairman of the Dementia Cooperative Oisterwijk. He is also a co-founder and current board member of the Social House Oisterwijk.
the event will be held at Huiskamer de inloop, Kerkstraat 48 in Oisterwijk. Doors open at 2:00 PM, with the lecture beginning at 2:30 PM. The afternoon will include a coffee break and conclude at 4:00 PM. Admission is 2 euros, payable in cash at the door. We look forward to welcoming you!
