Gophers Hockey Continues Hot Streak: Secures Commitment from Top Prospect Macklin mcarthur
Plymouth, MI – The University of Minnesota Gophers men’s hockey team is bolstering its future roster with the commitment of highly-rated prospect Macklin McArthur. The 16-year-old forward, a standout with the Dallas Stars Elite Under-16 AAA team, is expected to join the Gophers for the 2028-29 season.McArthur arrives with extraordinary credentials, having recorded 14 goals and 33 assists in 47 games as captain of the Stars’ U16 team during the 2024-25 season. He previously showcased his offensive prowess with 21 goals and 29 assists in 75 games for the stars’ Under-14 AAA team the prior year.

Cullen and Geiger will join McArthur in the U.S. National Program this season, while Conboy will play for Green Bay and Jarvis for Tri-City in the USHL.
Motzko has also recently secured commitments from Brooks Cullen, 18, who switched his commitment from Michigan State, and Carter Casey, 17, a goalie from Grand Rapids.
