DeAPlaneta Entertainment and Tiger Studio Partner for Global Pucca Relaunch
Pucca Plots Global Comeback for 20th Anniversary
Over 1.2 billion views and two decades later, a South Korean icon is heading back to the world stage. As the international entertainment industry prepares for the upcoming MIPCOM market, DeAPlaneta Entertainment and Tiger Studio have announced a joint partnership to manage a comprehensive international relaunch for Pucca, focusing on digital platforms, new content creation, consumer products, and gaming.
A Digital Footprint Across 170 Countries
Originally created in South Korea, Pucca has expanded its reach to more than 170 countries over the past two decades. The brand maintains a massive digital footprint across video and social media platforms. Official channels command more than 2 million subscribers on YouTube alongside a staggering 1.2 billion views. The property accounts for 400,000 followers on TikTok and 120,000 on Instagram across more than 120 countries.
Pioneering the Cute-But-Edgy Aesthetic
This widespread digital engagement highlights a character born alongside the first wave of digital-native consumers. Diego Ibáñez Belaustegui, Chief Brand Officer at DeAPlaneta Entertainment, noted that Pucca pioneered the fusion of K-pop culture with a distinct cute-but-edgy aesthetic that remains highly relevant today.

Dividing Global Rights and Strategy
Under the terms of the new agreement, DeAPlaneta Entertainment will control the audiovisual and social media rights for Pucca internationally, excluding Asia. The company also secured the consumer products rights across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Meanwhile, Tiger Studio brings creative collaboration to the table.
MIPCOM Set as International Showcase
Carlos Biern, Content & Media Sales Director at DeAPlaneta Kids & Family, expressed enthusiasm for introducing fresh creative perspectives to a global fandom. Co-founders Jimmy Park and Sam Chun of Tiger Studio pointed to DeAPlaneta’s established track record in scaling major Asian and Korean brands internationally as the primary driver behind the partnership.
The updated content strategy and initial community initiatives will roll out over the coming months. Both studio partners plan to use the upcoming MIPCOM market as their primary international showcase to introduce the refreshed property to partners and industry professionals.
