Dean Saunders expresses anger on Facebook after death of Ben Saunders
Nearly a month after the death of Ben Saunders, his brother Dean Saunders has published a scathing statement on Facebook detailing deep anger, conflicting timelines regarding the late singer’s relationship, and disputes surrounding a livestreamed funeral access code.
Ben Saunders, who won the inaugural season of The Voice of Holland, passed away on September 15 at the age of 43. On October 13, 2026, Dean Saunders broke his silence on social media, writing that he had never felt so much anger and disgust. According to Dean, multiple accounts regarding the period leading up to his brother’s death contradict each other.
Dean Saunders Claims Brother Wanted to Leave Relationship
Dean Saunders stated that his brother had wanted to leave his relationship for some time. According to information received by Dean, an argument allegedly occurred on the evening Ben died, after which he left the house. Show.nl noted that these claims regarding relationship tensions and the final evening have not been independently verified.
Before this public statement, Johan Derksen discussed Ben Saunders’ passing on the Dutch television program Vandaag Inside.
Disputes Over the Cremation Livestream
The grieving family also faced logistical barriers during the funeral service. Dean Saunders explained that his parents were abroad at the time of the cremation. Because his father was medically barred from flying, the parents arranged to watch the service remotely via a livestream.

According to Dean’s Facebook post, the access code for the livestream was changed just five minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to begin. He claimed this action was taken by Ben’s girlfriend rather than his wife. Ultimately, other attendees assisted the parents in gaining access so they could watch the service.
In addition to the livestream complications, Dean stated that the family experienced threats and exclusion throughout the process. He emphasized that he intends to continue searching for answers and will not rest until the truth is uncovered, noting that he initially remained silent out of respect for his late brother and surviving relatives.
