Deeper Life Daily manna: Believers‍ Called ⁣to Offer Their best to God

November 29, 2025⁣ – A powerful message of total devotion resonated today as Deeper ⁣Life Bible Church’s Daily Manna devotional, authored⁤ by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi, emphasized the importance of offering God “only the best.” The‍ devotional, titled “Only The Best,” draws ⁢parallels between the Old⁢ Testament practise of the heave offering detailed in Numbers 18:25-32 and the expectations for believers today.

The scripture highlights how the‌ Levites received a portion of the tithes as their reward for⁢ service⁤ in the tabernacle, but ‌only ⁢ after the best portion had been “heaved” – set apart – for the Lord. The text specifies this ⁢offering was “reckoned…as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and‍ as the fulness ‍of⁢ the winepress” (Numbers 18:27).It further instructs that ⁢every heave offering should be “of⁤ all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it” (Numbers 18:29).

Pastor Kumuyi illustrated this principle with the story of a thirteen-year-old girl who, moved by a sermon on Jesus’ sacrifice, offered herself to God by literally ⁣standing in the offering plate.

“Like⁢ the Levites in today’s text, believers are to give their best as hallowed gifts to the Lord,” the devotional states, ⁤quoting ⁢the hymn lyric, “Give of your best to the Master; Give ⁣of the strength of your youth; Throw your soul’s fresh, glowing ardour; Into the battle for truth.”

The Daily Manna urges believers‍ to emulate Jesus’ example of giving His life and to ⁢offer God their “all – heart, life, time, talents, and treasures” through obedience, gospel sharing, devotion, and mentorship.

Today’s Thought for the Day challenges readers: “What have you given to the Lord that cost you something?” The devotional’s one-year Bible reading plan features Daniel 3-5.
