David Byrne Brings Vibrant Energy to ‘The Tonight Show’ with New Single performance
New York, NY – David Byrne, the iconic frontman of Talking Heads, delivered a captivating performance of his new single, “What Is The Reason For It?” on The Tonight Show Wednesday night. The performance, filmed at an intimate setting within rough Trade NYC in Rockefeller Plaza, showcased Byrne and his band in coordinated orange tracksuits, injecting a burst of color and energy into the late-night landscape.
“What Is The Reason For It?” is the fifth track from Byrne’s highly anticipated upcoming album, Who Is the sky?, set to release this Friday. The song’s lyrics – “What is the reason for it? Why is it there? Is it my body or my brain?” – where delivered with Byrne’s signature blend of intellectual curiosity and infectious rhythm,as he danced alongside his backup singers and bandmates.
Who Is the Sky? marks Byrne’s latest solo effort following 2018’s American Utopia. the album boasts an remarkable roster of collaborators, including Paramore’s Hayley Williams, St. Vincent, and Tom Skinner of The Smile, all under the production guidance of Kid Harpoon.
