Danny O’Reilly: Inside His Romance with Model Vanessa O’Connell

Model Vanessa O’Connell publicly revealed her relationship with The Coronas frontman Danny O’Reilly in November 2023, sharing a photograph of the singer on her Instagram account. The image, initially tucked within a carousel of photos documenting “October work and life,” marked the first time O’Connell featured O’Reilly on her social media.

The couple subsequently embarked on a romantic getaway to Dubai the following month, with O’Connell posting a photo of them enjoying the “November sun.” As the year drew to a close, they were seen enjoying the Christmas lights in Dublin City Centre and stopping for a drink at Slattery’s pub, according to images shared by O’Connell.

O’Connell further acknowledged the relationship on TikTok in May 2024, posting a video of herself in a concert outfit before The Coronas’ performance, with O’Reilly embracing her from behind. A commenter noted O’Reilly “did well,” a sentiment echoed by others.

The model marked O’Reilly’s 40th birthday on March 23, 2025, with a series of previously unseen photographs. Later that month, the pair traveled to the French Alps for a ski trip.

O’Connell’s Instagram followers include a number of well-known Irish personalities, including influencers Louise Cooney, Pippa O’Connor and Jess Redden, as well as members of the band Wild Youth.

O’Reilly, who generally maintains a private social media presence, has been reticent to publicly acknowledge the relationship. He told the Sunday World that he prefers to keep his personal life off social media, a preference O’Connell understands. “I think I learned a few years ago that it’s not always great, so I just made that decision that I’m not going to say anything,” he stated.

O’Reilly previously dated presenter Laura Whitmore and model Holly Carpenter, and was most recently linked to Dorottya Krizan until July 2022.
