Dancing With the Stars Season 35: Ciara Miller Eliminated on Mariah Carey Night
Dancing With the Stars eliminated Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong during its fourth week of competition, which honored Mariah Carey with themed routines and competitive scores. Despite performing a jazz routine to Emotions that earned a 21 out of 30, the Summer House star and her professional partner landed in the bottom alongside two other couples and failed to advance.
Scores and Standouts on Mariah Carey Night
The ballroom evening featured multiple personal bests and a new high score for the season. Three couples opened the high-tier scoring by matching a 24 out of 30. Paralympian Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach performed a rumba to Anytime You Need a Friend, Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson delivered a tango to It’s Like That, and Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy danced a rumba to My All, each earning three eight paddles from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. Those scores marked season highs for both Frech and Johnson’s partnership, according to the show’s broadcast records.
Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas later surpassed that benchmark. Performing a waltz to If It’s Over, the pair received the first nine of the season from Carrie Ann Inaba, bringing their total to 25 out of 30 and claiming the top spot on the leaderboard.

At the opposite end of the scoring scale, late-night sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson fell to the bottom with a 13 out of 30 for their samba to Obsessed. Co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro revealed that Rodriguez and Carson, along with Jackson Olson and Emma Slater, were in danger of going home prior to the final announcement. Olson and Slater had earned a 21 out of 30 for their waltz to Without You.
Several couples finished the night in a four-way tie at 21 out of 30, including Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong, Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess, Jackson Olson and Emma Slater, and Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa. Miller expressed appreciation for her partner following the exit, stating that the run was the moment of a lifetime. Viewers determined the final results by combining judges’ scores with live votes submitted via ABC’s website and text messaging during the East Coast broadcast window.
