Dalibor Gondík’s Wife’s Reaction to His Revelation About Sexuality
Prague, Czech Republic – Czech television personality Dalibor Gondík recounted to an audience a recent, candid conversation with his wife, Markéta Gondíková, in which he jokingly confessed to being gay. Her response, a matter-of-fact “I know,” has resurfaced in Czech media, prompting renewed attention to long-standing speculation about Gondík’s sexual orientation.
The exchange occurred several years ago, as Gondík shared during a talk show hosted by Honza Dědek. He described returning home late one evening after an encounter with a man who made unwanted advances. “I came home and in the dark of the bedroom I said to my wife, ‘Markét, I’m probably gay,’” Gondík recalled. He then relayed his wife’s unruffled reply: “I know.”
Gondík, a comedian, actor, and television host, has consistently addressed the rumors surrounding his personal life with humor and self-deprecation. He has often joked that he seems to attract the attention of men, even suggesting he “has it written on his forehead.” According to reports, he quipped that his wife likely knew all along, explaining her acceptance as stemming from witnessing his discomfort with unwanted attention from other men. “She saw that I was desperate, that all sorts of men were trying me… But that’s just how This proves, but I really can’t help it. Men have been explaining to me since puberty that only a man can know what a man needs. That a woman can’t possibly know,” he reportedly said, eliciting laughter from the audience.
Despite being married for nearly three decades and raising a son, Theodor, who now works as a barista, Gondík continues to be the subject of public discussion regarding his sexuality. Recent reports note that Theodor experienced a serious health scare two years ago, requiring a week-long stay in intensive care at a Prague hospital and necessitating extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support.
Gondík has largely chosen to deflect serious inquiry into his private life, preferring to acknowledge the speculation with a lighthearted approach. He has not publicly addressed the resurfaced story of his conversation with his wife beyond the original recounting in the talk show interview.
