Cycle to Tallinn: Join ADFC Schwerin Baltics Tour

Cycle to Tallinn: Join ADFC Schwerin Baltics Tour

October 26, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

The ADFC Schwerin is recruiting riders for a 1,700-kilometer cycling journey to Tallinn, Estonia, scheduled to begin on July 3, 2027. Interested participants have until the end of January 2027 to finalize their registration, schwerin-lokal.de reported.

The 20-day tour will traverse five countries, taking riders through Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia before reaching the Estonian capital. Participants will average roughly 85 kilometers per day across the diverse terrain of Central and Eastern Europe.

ADFC Schwerin Plans Cycling Trip to Estonia

The Schwerin regional group of the General German Bicycle Club is planning the joint cycling trip to the Estonian capital for the summer of 2027. The planned journey is aimed at people who enjoy longer bicycle tours and want to explore the Baltics together with other cyclists. The route leads in 20 daily stages through Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia all the way to Estonia.

The ride is organized entirely on a voluntary basis by members of the ADFC Schwerin, meaning no additional organization fees apply. Riders are expected to transport their personal luggage on their own bicycles.

The Schwerin municipal administration is supporting the endeavor. City officials have already contacted their counterparts in Tallinn, which is one of Schwerin’s partner cities, to announce the approaching group. This mirrors a previous initiative in 2025, when Schwerin cyclists traveled to the Finnish partner city of Vaasa and received an official welcome at the town hall.

Costs and Registration Timeline

Organizers estimate that accommodations and the return trip by ship will cost between 1,500 and 2,500 euros per person, excluding individual food expenses. While initial expressions of interest can be submitted now, the final decision and a required deposit are due by the end of January 2027.

Roberto Koschmidder of ADFC Schwerin is managing inquiries for the tour.
