The announcement came from CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger, the developers behind the original “Cyberpunk 2077” and its 2023 animated series “Edgerunners.”

The sequel will follow the original series’ focus on the underground “Edgerunners” of Night City, with the new characters described as “key figures in the evolving conflict between corporate power and rebel factions.” No specific roles or backstories were disclosed, but the studio emphasized the characters will “expand the narrative scope” of the Cyberpunk universe.
