Belcarra Mourns loss of⁣ John Keaney, Beloved Midwest Radio ⁤Figure

Belcarra, County Mayo, is⁢ in ⁢mourning following‌ the sudden but peaceful passing‍ of John‌ Keaney on September⁢ 12th,⁤ 2025, at Mayo University Hospital, ‌surrounded ⁢by his family. Keaney,a well-known ‌and respected figure in local broadcasting⁤ as part​ of the Midwest Radio team,was a pillar of the community and leaves behind a legacy of dedicated service to County Mayo.

The loss is deeply ⁤felt​ by his wife, Katie, children⁤ Chanel and Jonathan, brother Tom, sisters Margie and Mary, and a wide circle of‍ friends⁤ and neighbours. Keaney’s contributions extended beyond the airwaves; he ‌was ‍a dedicated family man and active member ⁣of the ⁢Belcarra community. His unexpected death underscores the fragility of life ‍and the importance of local connections, leaving a‌ void in‌ both ‍the broadcasting landscape⁢ and the hearts of ⁤those who ‌knew him. Funeral arrangements have been made to allow the community to pay their respects.

Keaney is predeceased by​ his parents, William and Bridie. Reposing will take place ⁢at Belcarra Community Center (F23 HY58) on Sunday evening, September 14th, from 4:30 PM, with removal​ at⁢ 7:00 PM to St. ⁢Anne’s ⁣Church,Belcarra. A Requiem Mass ‍will be held on Monday at 12:00 noon, followed by burial in Balla Cemetery.The ‌family ​has requested privacy ⁢at their⁢ home during this arduous time.
